well I was wondering wha would happen if I put in some ram while the machine was on (don't ask).

Well the ram pins on the ram themselves got a lil fried, can those be fixed?

Also seems like the socket in my number 1 ann 3 slots for the ram in the mothboard are damaged as well, is there a way to set up the bios to ignore those slots and use the 2,4 slots? I have a older shuttle motherboard Ill dig up a link for it if thats neccassary. If thats not possable can I replace the fitting for the ram on the motherboard? I was really looking forward to turning this semi-old computer to a descent gaming maching I can give to my 13 year old brother...

I put a Thermaltake Giant III on my vid card and as soon as I turned the pc on, the wires running to the control panel lit up red and smoke started pouring out of my case. That crap stunk for days. I rma'd the Giant, and by the way, it didn't cool any better than stock. Waste of thirty bucks, plus the 15 to ship it back to the vendor for a replacement. what a mess
