Hi guys

I have spilled water on my laptop and its not working anymore, is there anyway that I can get the pictures from the hard disk ? I am a builder and all the pictures were for a construction website.

Thanks in advance

The good news is that odds are your pictures are just fine even if the rest of the laptop is toast, water probably didn't get into the hard drive.

Pick up one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812196455 or use any other external USB hard drive enclosure. Pull the drive out of the laptop, make sure everything is thoroughly dry, then hook it up to another computer with this adapter. It'll see it just like any other portable hard drive or thumbdrive, pull whatever you need right off.

If you have a desktop computer that's relatively modern, you can just plug it in like a regular hard drive... SATA is standard between laptop and desktop drives now.

If you only have another laptop or don't have access to another SATA port, then use an adapter, like Mushkins posted, or external enclosure. You could just use an enclosure and make it into a permanent external hard drive, if you want.
