Solved! Damaged ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ. Repair or move on?

During my recent move, my ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ got damaged as shown in the photo included. My heart sank when I first turned it on as this was my fav monitor of all time. 🙁 I was fortunate to have bought it new in early 2020 for $1200 before it grew in popularity and price. A new one now goes for $2500 and a used one for $1700 on Amazon.
I'm trying to decide what to do now.
  1. Get it repaired through ASUS (it's out of warranty). Does anyone have any experience with ASUS repairing their monitor? Any ideas on what this might cost?
  2. Sell it on Ebay. Maybe someone out there could use it for parts or repair it. Maybe it's not even worth it?
  3. Move on and just take it to my local PC recycling.
Thanks for your help!

Pop it open and get the panel model number. Go to panelook.com and find a replacement option. Should be relatively easy to swap out. It's what I do to upgrade to 4k on laptops instead of paying the OEM twice as much. Panels don't usually cost too much and diy is quicker than sending it out. Should just be a couple of screws and double sided tape to deal with besides the ribbon cable.

Wow, thank you for your brilliant answer! I didn't even think about going this route. I followed a tear down YouTube video that got me inside the monitor as there are no visible screws. The panel model number is M270QAN02.2. Panelook.com is out of stock since it's discontinued, but I found it on dhgate dot com for $332.29 with free shipping. I don't have any experience with this company, but I'll do some research, and if they are reputable I will order the panel.

I just hope I have the skill to get it in as I've never done something like this before.

Anyways, thanks again!

You can take the model and find similar sized options and/or upgrade the specs to something better.

for instance the 2.5 model is brighter or the 2.7 model is slightly different with QLED. I usually just take the model number "number" and put it into google.
Looks like it's running about $200 across a couple of sites. The biggest thing that tends to be an issue is the companies selling "compatible" models instead of the specific model. Save yourself some headaches and ask them for verification before paying them.
