Damage to door -- what are repair costs like?

Hey guys,

My neighbor accidentally backed up into my car (an 01 acura integra), creating a rather large sized dent. Actually it's more than a dent, the door is caved-in pretty bad near the handle, and I couldn't even open it from the outside. Miraculously the glass is still intact, but the weatherstripping is no longer flush with the window, so if it rains the door will fill with water.

How much does a typical repair for this cost? I imagine you could bang out the dent from the inside but it's a bit hard to get to due to another metal panel, and I still don't know how I could fix the weatherstripping issue.

I tried to look up costs for a shop to do this but they seemed to vary wildly (but were usually at least a couple hundred bucks). However I noticed that doors from junkyards were about 2/3 the price; if I decided to go this route, is there something I'm missing that makes this harder than the repair? I know the paint won't match but that's not a big deal for me since the car is a beater anyways. My neighbor would be paying out of pocket for the damage so I would like to minimize costs.

Thanks!

Call his insurance company and let them take care of it?

Otherwise the junkyard door is probably the cheapest option.

The door will not fill with rain water as there are drain holes in the bottom. Get his insurance to cover it. Junkyard door.
