Dallas Maintains Highest Crime Rate For 6th Year

As expected, FBI statistics for 2003 show Dallas has the highest overall crime rate among the country's largest cities for the sixth year in a row.

The final 2003 statistics released Monday by the FBI show Dallas was No. 1 in robberies and burglaries per capita, but No. 3 in murders, rapes and aggravated assaults among the nation's nine largest cities.

The FBI's uniform crime reporting program also showed that the city had the second-highest rate for vehicle thefts and other property thefts.

Sucks to live in Dallas🙁

<---Lives in Dallas area & works in Dallas

I think they're still behind Baltimore/Washington for violent crime/murder - take that, Dallas!

In all fairness though, Dallas is kind of uneven because it has a much larger amount of thefts. The only city the article mentions other than Dallas is Detroit, and their numbers may be better for thefts, but they leave a lot to be desired elsewhere.
