Dallas/FW ATC mis-handles aircraft emergency.

WTF? UNABLE?

I was planning on defending the ATC...but there's no excuse for that interphone communication.

We (Canadian ATC) had procedure changes out of this event to clarify procedures in 'minimum fuel' versus emergency fuel situations.

I can't believe the controller in this situation. I'm left speechless to the way the controller handled this.

In aviation the word emergency means to me, "I need to land NOW."

And as it should be you should be given priority over everything to get on the ground. it's not as if pilots abuse this term, so it should not be taken lightly.

I would have to landed on the runway haha, as the guy said at the end.

Tell him to shove his other planes where the sun don't shine and I'm taking 17.

Flight crew declares emergency low fuel situation. Jackass in the Air Control tells him to wait his turn to land on the far runway, or if he's in such a big hurry, to find a closer landing site. What a huge jackass. I'm glad nothing happened.

Some controllers treat planes as if there aren't people in them....
