"You made some stupid ass comment about the Cowboys not having the opportunity to choke ( ) so I responded back."

waah, waah

RB - show me one thread where I trash talked, the Eagles lost and I didn't come back to face the music.

Thank you...

Ahh....my ban is up, I've been itching to reply to this thread 🙂

Vinny didn't do terrible last year when he played in place of Pennington. The team did, but Testaverde's numbers were pretty good, IIRC.

Personally, I think Carter is the better QB of the two, all around. Testaverde is smarter and more accurate, but Carter's more mobile and has a stronger arm, and getting much better in terms of his decision making. However, the way Parcells has been talking up Parcells all offseason, I've got a good feeling that he would have been the starter by the end of training camp anyway. So, in the long run, this really won't hurt them that much.

Sorry Dallas, but your likely Starting QB and RB are relics. Maybe next year if Henson is ready.
Actually, the starting RB as of right now is Julius Jones. They will likely split carries, and it will be a good tandem of Jones can develop quickly, because Jones is a great outside runner, but not huge between the tackles like George. The running game will be worlds better than last year.

Poor guy ought to know he's too old to take a hit from Jevon Kearse...
hahah. Look at the side Kearse is lining up against. Think he's gonna get through Flozell Adams and Larry Allen? Good luck with that. Kearse has sucked since his injury, he won't get through that blockade.

The Skins won't be good. They should have learned last year that you cant just throw people together like they always do, it doesn't work. And talk about relic QB's...Brunell might be younger, but he is awful. Way past his time, Ramsey should DEFINITELY be the starter. Washington will finish 3rd again.

yeah the corners who only played half the season last year, while the team still went 12-4. what will we do without them. i'm sure trotter, kearse, and a healthy dawkins add nothing to the defense either.
Uh huh, and what was your defense ranked? its gonna be WORSE this year. You just named 3 players who will be hurt or not playing to their full potential. Good work. Trotter has sucked the past two years, Jones is NO replacement for Emmons, Kearse will not be the force he was, and Dawkins...is hurt AGAIN. He is still good, but on his way down. Philly's defense will be in the latter half of the league this year, and with your lack of a running game(you'll see just how important Staley was to your offense), the stronger passing game won't be enough to offset that. You didn't deserve to get where you did last year, and you won't again this year.

I have no beef with you - I know you're man enough to admit your mistake. One Eagles fan in this thread isn't. You're not so cocky that you come over as a complete arrogant a-hole. Like I said earlier, there's spirit and faith in your team, and there's just plain being a dick. You're the former 🙂

The 'Skins won't be great but they will solid and not a team to get an easy "W" against, IMO. If anyone can rescue the team from "Synder-ization" it's Gibbs. As you said, you can't buy a winning team but I think Gibbs has enough clout, respect, and success (especially in Washington) that he can mold the team. Again it's another off-season of wholesale changes but I think the 'Skins next year will be a playoff team. Anyway, back to this year. Gibbs is back and he like vet's especially at QB. I think Brunell will be a good mentor for Ramsey who will hopefully be the starter next season. Ramsey is also busy unlearning everything Spurrier taught him while trying to learn the new way things are done (or old, old way I guess) under Gibbs. I was surprised that they picked up Brunell too, but I think they wanted a QB with proven leadership and experience. Anyway, look at the QB's Gibb's won his last 2 superbowls with (Mark Rypien and Doug Williams). He doesn't need a spectacular QB to win. And, "offically" the starting QB job is open. Gibb's won't make a decission until after the first pre-season game.

Joe Bugel is back coaching the O-line (he mastermind the Hogs back in the day). So pass protection should be better this year (thank god. I'm surprised Ramsey can still play after last season).

Portis is gonna give a solid running game. And, this is probably wishful thinking, but Coles, Gardner, and McCants could be the next Posse in a year or two.

On the other side of the ball the D line, I think, is still questionable. Arrington is still the staple in the linebacking core which Washington is a good addition to.EDIT: I forgot Barrow came over from the Giants (another solid Vet to teach the younger guys). Losing Bailey was obvioulsy<sp?> a huge hit to the secondary (he was pretty much playin' w/one good arm and was still shuttin' down his side of the field), but I think they made good moves by picking up Taylor, Harris, and Springs (if he can stay healthy). Smoot and Bowen had good years last year too.

The 'Skins have talent, they just need time (that's T-I-M-E Mr. Snyder) to gel and have a strong head coach. They went 4 and 0 last year before injuries crippled them (key loses on the O-line and at one point in time 3 of their 4 RB's were hurt). Also Defenses realized that Spurrier thought pass protection was over rated so they blizted like hell and beat the crap out of Ramsey (tough SOB right there).

I think Vinnie has enough gas in the tank to keep Dallas goin' until his understudy is ready to get under center. In no way shape or from should Dallas be discounted this season. If nothing else Parcells can will them to win.

Although my two favorite teams are Washington and whoever plays Dallas I'm glad to see Washington and Dallas cycling into solid teams again. They have such a history in the NFL, and against each other, that it doesn't seem right when they out-and-out suck. Of course if Washinton only wins two games this year that will fine w/me as long as those two games are against Dallas. 😉
