Daimler/Chrysler Merge

What was the exact date of the merge? I believe it was MAy 7th 1998, but I want to be 100% sure.

Doesn anyone know?

EDIT: The date on my file is June 3, 1998, so that is probably the date that I gave the speech.

This took me three seconds to find...

The buyout was announced as a "merger of equals" on May 7 but actually took place on November 12 and was not revealed to be a buyout until 2003.

this is fun reading
it has "Dated as of May 7, 1998"

but i couldn't find anything about the nov. date of finalization or whatever, i would think some SEC document would have something like that date in it
