Oh I don't think it's as crazy as you'd expect. It seems like small block Chevy swaps have always been the low cost horsepower mod. It's just continued into the 21st century is all. There were just so many of them made and it has spawned a huge aftermarket for power adder parts.

I think it's more amazing how turbo charging has brought the 4 cylinder crowd into the same speed brackets as the large displacement motors. It's always fun to watch old American iron line up next to an import putting down massive power. Pass Time on Speed was my favorite show just for that. Trying to guess the 1/4 mile times and then seeing who beat who. I also liked the camera shake whenever he'd fist bump the contestant who won the pass. "BOOM! Cash is good!"

Does kind of feel like a golden age for hybrid lsx setups. Painless and wiring specialties make stand alone harnesses for tons of platforms. Back in the day we had to fab a lot of stuff to get a454 in a firebird but now one can go to jegs and have a pain free swap delivers red like a pizza


You can buy swap parts for jaguar and range rover and a guy i i know is developing a drop in kit for a boxster. Fun times to be an enthusiast.


Just picked up a vlsd from a q45 and six bolt axels and shims to get the rear end taken care of. Vlsd for 100 bucks is delicious

Thx guys. When I went to DMV I almost got plates for the car saying NOTAM3 or doyoulftbro but they don't allow personal plates in Indiana because some troll got vagina plates
 
Your z32 is sick. I love the tall spoiler some of those came with. Reminds me of the 3 post talon spoiler. Is it turbo? 2+2?

I second this. It can't be easy to shift

Now the dildo material notwithstanding but rally car drivers use tall shifters for a reason. It also helps when drifting though this car will be set up for road racing.

I had s 1989 240SX and it was a great handling car, it did not cum with a clear dildo, but they weren't available back then. There's a top ten list of things to rice up a car and clear dildo shifters are number 9, just after truck nuts.

How much does the Nissan motor/transmission weigh compared to the LS1 lump? Will the rear end handle the extra power?

Ls1 with a t56 is about 200 lbs lighter than the ka de setup. Also places the weight lower so car has better balance.


From your other question the front end of the car came from. 95 zenki. Previous owner sold off parts including the hood and lights and fenders. Picked up the car crazy cheap

What I really wanted was 570sx for personalized plates. Hard to believe the whole state has frozen all new personalizes plates for the state over a complaint.

I passed on my old high school teachers 1992 240sx, red, SE model with moonroof and VLSD. Only factory options it didn't have was the 4 wheel steering and leather.

She wanted like 8000 for it 🙁 original owner, 100k miles

Sorry for the late updates. Had issues with the heads and waited for parts and time. Got the engine in and some of the odds and ends done. Had to then wait on heads at machine shop and then got sent the wrong harness. Got the Q45 diff and beffier axles in a and had to get help from my friend Tmez to cut and notch the crossmenber for my Hooker mounts.

You mean that last shifter wasn't right where you want it? :whiste:

depending on what mounts you use for a 240sx swapping an ls1 the shifter is sometimes too far back and doesnt line up properly forcing you to modify the linkage and get shitty results.
