Daily Deals or Not

Newegg has a couple of 'daily deals' that have me reconsidering my purchase.

I was going to get Antec earthwatts EA500 500W (http://www.newegg.com/Product/...?Item=N82E16817371007)

but then Newegg put COOLER MASTER Real Power 650W (http://www.newegg.com/Product/...-17-171-023-_-Product)) on sale for the same price. I'm wondering if I should get this one instead.

Same deal with the video card. I was all set to get Radeon HD 4670 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/...?Item=N82E16814127383) but then they put the GeForce 9600 GSO 768MB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/...-14-150-320-_-Product) on sale.

I'm not sure which one I should go with.

This is going into a new build of a budget gaming Computer (E5200 w/4GBs RAM) used to play World of Warcraft and internet, home bookeeping, pictures, Facebook, etc.

Thanks for your sage advice.

Edit: Found an article which address my Video Card situation.

Now to just figure out the Power supply.

In the wattage area you're looking at, I would go with a PP&C for $55 AR.

I would avoid the CoolerMaster. No idea about the Real Power, but it's been said the eXtreme Power 650 is a rebadged Seventeem 450W, and was tweaked to "rate" at 650W. With PP&C, if they say you're getting 610W, you're probably getting 610W.

Avoid that 9600GSO. That model uses the slower DDR2 memory which I've heard/read will have a significant impact on performance.

You may want to consider buying a 8800/9800GT or HD 4830 if you can spring for another $20-30 on the video card. Should give you a pretty big performance boost over the 2 you mentioned, depending on game/application.

Edit - Oh, and all your links don't work, might wanna fix that, will make it easier for others to lend you advice.

Sorry about the links. Thanks for the help.

Just one more quick question, since I can't seem to find a direct comparison anywhere.

How does a 9600GT compare with a 4830?

The 4830 beats out the 9600GT. The 4830 often beats out the 8800/9800GT, sometimes by a good bit, especially if overclocked.

Check out this brand new article on the anandtech front page - Link

Edit - Here's a review over at TH comparing the HD 4830 to an 8800GT OC. The link I sent you shows overclocked results of the HD 4830, quite impressive - Link.

That same Powercolor HD 4830 is on sale at Newegg right now for $84.99 after rebate + about $8 shipping. Excellent bang for the buck, and even more impressive when you factor-in overclocking.
