Question Daily computer for HTPC?

I'd like to use my daily computer (HP Elitedesk 400 G7, Nvidia T400, 16GB, Win11) for HTPC also. The problem is when I hook up my TV the new resolution screws up my desktop and moves my shortcuts around. How do I solve that? Would creating a second desktop work? I'm not clear on how that would work.
 
The difference is the resolution differences between the TV you are connecting it to and the monitor that you typically used. There is no real fix due to how Microsoft coded stuff. The best you can do is configure the TV as an extended display (i.e. it isn't mirror'ing your primary display that you have always used). You will need to open applications and place them on the display of your choice.
