Daft Punk Announces Breakup After 28 Years

Instant Crush was the last song I really liked from them, haven't heard much from them since then. I remember liking One more time in high school because it had an anime music video that reminded me of robotech.

when techno crashed and burned in the last years of the 90s, DP where the only ones to survive. And .. i have to say, they moved in a strange direction. I may not always have agreed with their decisions, but i respect them for doing their thing.

i cannot help thinking of Rondo' Veneziano whenever i see DP though.

As far as i know "Get Lucky" was the first & only song i'd ever heard from them. One of the guys at work had his music turned up on day & i went to ask what song was playing. It was "Giorgio by Moroder". I kinda liked that.

4 albums in 28 years? They in a contest with Tool? 😛

RIP in peace...they had some good tunes, I even spent a ridiculous amount of time partially building a Minecraft Noteblock version of Around the World on a server hosted by a Rage 3D User many years ago.

They were one of the most well-known 'mainstream' edm groups but I'm almost a bit surprised they announced a split. They likely could have done it quietly if they had wanted to, it isn't like they're often in the limelight.
