Earth could soon be entering a new Ice Age, according to scientists at Oregon State University and other institutions, in a study to be released this week by Science magazine. "Sometime around now, scientists say, the Earth should be changing from a long interglacial period that has lasted the past 10,000 years and shifting back towards conditions that will ultimately lead to another ice age - unless some other forces stop or slow it," states a release from Oregon State University.

Yeah, that kinda thing is what I think controls.

I do think from an Economic POV that we should surf the bow wave on what ever the world is doing. We can't get left behind and continue as usual... We have lots of reasons to go green. It could transform us into a leader in the industry.
It don't matter what the truth is about global whatever when the economic benefits can be great. I suppose strategic security aspects are considerations as well... We need to grasp this potential.

What green really means is communist pinko socialist i love you loving liberal atheist progressive scum who want to take people to a heaven on earth life that completely bypasses Armageddon. We of the party of death are not about to let that happen. Any successful green revolution could drive a stake in the heart of us Paleolithic conservatives.

Right... and I'll see your saber-tooth tiger and raise you a woolly mammoth!

Aside from the obvious benefits of adopting a green attitude, I find the history of Earth somewhat compelling.

Oh.. heck.. watch Cosmos! :) I think we can see that our planet cycles according to the effects of simple stuff well out of our control. The Sun and the Earth's relative position to the Sun are far more likely to affect Earth's Climate than human intervention. Although, I'd agree we humans can cause some predictable events to occur, I think the human aspect will be ignored and inconsequential to what 'Mom Nature' has in store for us.
In any event, if humans survive for another 5 billion years they will cease to exist on this planet as the sun transitions from one consumption of matter to another...
I suspect in another few years we'll have found a way to make moot any of this climate stuff as we try to survive what other insane issues humans are bound to invoke.

The real problem here is that these emails will be used to stop environmentally sound legislation, of which no one should have a real problem with.

legislation that creates a new economic sector that will have a carbon footprint larger than the reduction it produces.
