damn, i was looking forward to it this weekend, too.

Wasn't a big fan of the book, but my girlfriend loved it- thought it would make at least for halfway decent blockbuster entertainment.

Good suspense in books is totally different than in movies. I was worried from the day it was announced that it wouldn't work on a big screen. I'm betting it'll be a long episode of that show Numb3rs (which was godawful the one time I watched it).

They should have made Angels & Demons. It would have been a little better paced.

I think its partial of people having to high a expectation and the fact many sheep..err...catholics are fallowing what the church is saying. to give it a negitive review and boycutt the movie.

but NO MOVIE is as good as the book. i have never seen it anyway.

I'll be the first one in line ready to watch it, curious to see if the movie is anything like what I had in mind when I ready the book.

I'm still going to go see it.

I still think they should have made Angles&Demons though.

The book, while not the GREATEST NOVEL EVER like most people seem to think, was pretty good, and definitely fun. Too bad the movie sucks.

LoTR movies were better than the books. Not because the movies were so great, but because reading the books is a chore.

I was thinking I'd go see it just to bug the Catholics that are bothered by that sort of thing.

I thought the book was terribly written and amateurish - I was hoping the movie would be better, or at least entertaining. Too bad.

Mostly agree. It's interesting because of the controversy it stirs up, but the novel read a bit like the textbooks from many of my religious studies classes in college. Seemed like Dan tried to write his story around the arguments/theories he had researched instead of the other way around. I still think the movie will be decent, just not the earth-shattering blockbuster some thought/hoped it would be.

I agree. My mom actually 'solved' it about 75 pages into the book, told me how it was generally written, and then told me what happened, so I saved my time from reading it.
