Woot! Probably have to buy this one.

The dreaded Archdemon has been slain and the advance of the darkspawn halted by a lone, heroic Grey Warden. The kingdom rejoices, but at least one question remains: what happened to Morrigan? The sorceress joined the Wardens cause, but it is said her true purpose was not revealed until the eve of the last battle. She vanished into the shadows, and while rumors claimed she crossed over the mountains into Orlais no trace of her path could be found. She was never heard from again... until now. Nearly a year has passed since the Archdemon's death, and word has reached the Wardens that Morrigan has returned to Ferelden. She has been sighted in the southern wilderness where she was first encountered. Is it truly her? If it is, then why has is she here and what secret does she carry with her? The Warden heads into the forest to find out and tie up this last loose end once and for all.

Sweet! Morrigan was one of the more interesting characters, and I'm really interested to see what they plan to do with her. Gonna have to pick this one up.

Did anyone finish the last DLC? I got insanely bored with it and gave up after an hour or two.

Was the Lelianna's Song? There was only an hour or two of gameplay in it to begin with . . .

Definitely want to find out what happens to Morrigan though, one of the most interesting characters in the game.

Sorry, I forgot there was more than one post-first-day-DLC. :)

The one where you have the choice to play as your DA:O character, or a Warden from Orlais. I recall meeting some asshole in prison who was the son of an asshole from DA:O, who wanted to join up with me to show me how non-assholish he is.

The conversation went something like:

Him: I'm gonna kill you for doing whatever you did to my father!
Me: Hey dude, your father was an asshole.
Him: Our family got a bad rap:
Me: No, your family was a bunch of assholes.
Him: Ok, maybe you're right. Can I join you?
Me: Are you on crack? Fuck you, no. Like I said, your whole family are assholes, and so far, you're proving to be just as assholish.
Him: Wow. You're right. I'm sorry. Let me prove myself. I suddenly have an urge to do good. Can I join you and be a Warden?

BIG CHOICE HERE: YES OR NO?!?! OH WOW, TOUGH ONE.

Me: No. Seriously. Fuck off before I kill you.

That was in Awakening, the expansion, not a DLC. :p Nathaniel Howe, who turns out to be a pretty decent character, IMO. Not my favorite or as interesting as Justice, but better than some others I've seen.

Hah, thanks for reminding me! In fact, because of your thread I'm going to try to get into, enjoy, and finish Awakening that much earlier. :)

They're now trying to tie up that story arc in a snack-sized DLC? Good grief.

Yeah exactly. I hope it is at least 5+ hours. They could have made a second expansion out of it. They seem to be in a hurry to move to DA2 for some reason. Maybe the first expansion sold poorly.

I'd hope they are in a hurry to move to DA2 because they want to introduce a lot of new things to the game. Gameplay changes, graphics changes, etc....

I was under the impression that Bioware intended 2 years of DLC for DA:O. I remember hearing that in several previews.

Are these DLC's available via Steam? (Leilana's Song/Golems of Amgarrak)

I've just been on after reading this and another DA:O thread and thinking of finishing the game now then waiting til the Steam price drops on DA:A (as it's extortionate and I believe I'll need the DA:A steam version to play with my DA:O Steam version)

I don't think they are. I'm pretty sure the only way to get the DLC is purchasing it with Bioware points, but the DLC works fine in Steam. I have all of them thus far and play through Steam.

I am so far very underwhelmed with Awakenings...it just seems too easy. I can only recall dying once so far.

granted I did import my character with much of his equipment but even my NPCs aren't having much trouble either.

Oh yeah, you buy them through the Bioware site then log into your Bioware account through the game and download them that way?

Sounds much neater and tidier than I expected when I couldn't find them on Steam. Thanks for the heads up!

Finally, a proper sequel to DAO, sadly it's just in the form of a DLC, and even more sadly for me, that DLC pretty much confirms that there's nothing about Morrigan in DA2, or else why would they take the time to complete Morrigan's story arc with that DLC prior to DA2's release, not to mention that on the official DLC's page it clearly mentions that it's supposed to be a "dramatic conclusion", so I know that I can't expect much from the original DAO characters, much less from Morrigan, in DA2, which in turn gives me a better reason not to feel in a hurry about DA2 at all.

Time will tell. But I'll get that DLC for the sake of playing DAO a bit more.

Yeah, Origins seemed to have much tougher battles. The Werewolves lair comes to mind. Maybe it's just because in Awakenings you get access to more spells/abilities which make your characters uber, I don't know.

They could EASILY make a completely new game that just features Morrigan as the main character and have more than enough story and content for 40-50 hours of gameplay.

Yes, exactly. Inside DA just log in with whatever email purchased the points on the website, then you handle everything else from inside the game itself.

Yes, Awakenings was a pushover. I ended up with a DW Warrior that was a Spirit Warrior. (Bypassed enemy armor and caused spirit damage.) He absolutely ANNIHILATED his foes!!

Can;t wait to see what they do with this DLC. Been waiting too long to see what Morrigan is up to!
