Me too. Grossman has just been to inconsistent to be a starting QB imo.

They'll draft a QB who'll sit behind him, learn the offense, come in when Rex gets hurt 1/2 way through the season, and either suck horridly, or pull a Roethlisberger.

5 years and has only played in 32 games. What a joke. He averages 6 starts a year whereas he has been deemed the starter for the past 3-4 years. I'm no expert but the Bears would be better off without him as their starting QB.

One year is not exactly a vote of confidence. $3M is not what you pay a valued starting quarterback. It's more a statement that, "We got no one better right now so we need some filler."

Still it's sad that the Bears have no one better than that guy. I'm not a Bears fan. Do they have anyone better?

Urlacher would be better at QB than Grossman.

They need a decent backup which is exactly what he will end up being come start of the season. The draft isnt here yet nor the free agency so you never know what you will get until that magic time of year.

True they should have traded him for a low pick or just let him go but unfortunately they aren't allowed to play their defense on offense too. Couple good QB's in the draft this year not the best year but they could snag one if they really wanted.

Either the selection of NFL-level QB's is even lighter then I thought or the Bears made a really bad move here ... theres no way they'll ever win anything with Sexy Rexy running the plays.

Someone on ESPN made a brilliant comment when he said that the Bears should have gone after Billy Volek from San Diego. He's a free agent and would have been much better than Rex. I can't believe they re-signed that jackass.

I'm gonna go against the consensus and say that next season is his best yet. Year before last, he looked as good as any QB I have ever seen - at least in the first half of the season or so. Just watch. Besides Chicago's D was nothing much to watch this year either.

Frigging idiots. Billy Volek seriously needs to be given a chance at a starting qb job somewhere. I was pissed the Chargers didn't at least give him a chance in the Super Bowl when Rivers was gimpy.

yep, rex was the ONLY problem the bears had this year.

Didn't have anything to do with worst O-Line ever, worst Receivers, no Running back, worst O-play caller in the league, half the D injured. Definitely all rex.

They didn't sign him to a long term deal, its a one year last chance opp. They can still sign somebody else, but why take the chance, lose rex, and then be stuck with greesy or orton. I'll take Rex over greesy's old ass any day.

Unless you watch games instead of just sportscenter highlights, you cannot comment.

I think you mean AFC championship?

Plus, yes as I said, Volek was a great backup QB for the Titans and I have no doubt that he could play much better than Rex.

Fixed.

Oh, and as a Chargers fan, I was so fucking happy that the Giants won the Super Bowl this year simply because of that game...well, that and that other game last year.

<--Official Patriots hater :p

Look how "highly" Eli Manning was regarded up through most of last year and he winds up the super bowl mvp. I doubt it'll happen for good ol' Rex because the Bears have far too many questions and lack answers, but you never know. This move was obviously to try to convince Berrian to stick around.
