I have a D815EEA2/D815EPEA2 with a P3 933 mhz. The computer booted consistently 2 days ago. Yesterday, I put in a some new ram and then tried the power the system on. The computer would not boot after I put the ram in (the power supply died, no fans nothing). Today, I got a new power supply and now the fans and hard drive start, however the system does not POST. I tried disconnecting the drives, taking out the ram and trying one at a time, and reseating the graphics card. I am pretty sure the processor is still seated. So any ideas, or is the computer dead?

BTW, the new power supply is a 330 watt Seasonic S12. I have reset and replaced the CMOS battery. Any help would be appreciated.

System
D815EEA2/D815EPEA2
933mhz Pentium 3
64 mb Radeon 7500
160 GB Seagate
330 watt Seasonic

Thanks

Sounds like your old PS borked your Mobo, CPU or Vid card. Do you have a spare vid card lying around or one from another computer?

no, i don't have a spare graphics card. I did try using the integrated graphics card after I reset the cmos battery, but no luck.

I am beginning to wonder if the motherboard didn't get fried by the old one :(

I would initially suspect mobo...but its always a tough call between the mobo and CPU.

Well, i remember I added 256MB to an older Sony Vaio (P4 1.7GHz, 256MB RAM) and it borked it. I innitially thought it was the hard drive, bought new one, nothing. Turned out it was the RAM. Took out the new 256MB stick and got it working. :D

yea, i tried a 2 different RAM discs (total of 3). The original 128, a 256 that had worked before and then the new 128 stick I had gotten. None worked. thanks for the suggestion though.
