I found that far too amusing for something that has Hitler in it...

Anyone care to explain the "linear resolution" portion of the video? What is "linear resolution" and "non-linear resolution" if it exists?

Nikon D3 produces files at 4256 x 2832: 12.1 MP

Sony A900 makes files at 6048 x 4032: 24.6 MP

If you take the diagonals of both cameras' files, the Sony is roughly 7269 pixels. The Nikon is 5112 pixels diagonally.

As you can see, the Sony only has about a 43% increase in linear resolution despite the doubling (100% increase) of MP over the D3.

In simple terms, the Sony may have twice the resolution, but the images you print can only be 43% larger while maintaining the same detail level.

Very cool, and funny -- I was thinking that my first impression was the price tag as I clicked this thread.

Sadly though most of the points in that video are true

-Ridiculously high price tag of D3x compared to A900, 5D Mk. II
-Lack of fast Nikon prime lenses (no f/1.2, very few f/1.4, especially wide angle)...also many Nikon prime lenses use old and slow camera driven AF
-Very average point and shoots

etc
