I remember downloading it years ago; it came packed in with RivaTuner. Looks like I haven't been paying attention... RivaTuner is obsolete now, and no longer supported. I never actually used RivaTuner, I just used D3DOverrider that came with it.
But where can I find D3DOverrider these days? It was really useful in some games. The PC version of Dead Space, for example, had an absolutely dreadful implementation of Vsync that introduced a heinous amount of input lag. But turning off Vsync created a whole other set of problems on it's own, so a 3rd-party solution was required. Using D3DOverrider to force triple-buffering worked wonderfully.
I also remember using it to get rid of the awful micro-stuttering in Gamebryo engine titles (Fallout 3, Oblivion, etc). I'd edit the .ini to get rid of the internal framerate cap and forced it outside instead, always ran smoothly after that.
So where do I find it now? Does it even still get supported? Does it run OK on Windows 8?
