D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE error with new card D3D ???

I just put in a GF4 mx 440 pci card. I installed the newwest drivers and when I try to play some games the screen is black or when i tried to do aquamark it comes back with the D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE (1012) D3D error

I have the newwest DX9 and am not sure what else to do check?

Any way to re-install direct X to see if that would help. Mine juts keeps saying I have the newwst one, even the full d/l
