Hard to believe! I would guess that the growth from RC5 and ECCp ending has been extraordinary!

Possibly 2nd by the end of the year :Q:cool:

You will have to keep this updated every 4 or 5 days.

Thanks Geoff

DPC has clearly put some more nodes but they are still light years after us in the daily output.

I've decided to try Linux on one of my machines. I'd like to convert them all, but I also want to keep the same node number... not make 16 new nodes and discontinue 16 nodes. I'm hoping that the crew at D2OL can give me an answer about that.

I do have concerns about the Linux client though... my knowledge of Linux is pretty limitted and it looks like there is a lot of work and patching that needs to be done to get it running.... true?

Well my install of RedHat 7.3 was a pain. But I installed 8.0 and then installed D2OL and no modifying needed. It was as easy as win98 if not easier. Just install and go, no tar files to deal with. :)

Also if you want I can try and give this thing a node number from a win98 machine. I think it would be easy enough. Just let me know.

I think it may just be the node.prp file in the SengentD2OL/D2OL/res directory, but I'm not 100% certain

Modern linuxes are actually quite easy to set up. Weird issues occasionally come up, but I've never had to patch a kernel or anything like that.

Your right its the node.prp file. I have already used it multiple times. There is also another file called stats.prp and that needs to be moved.

The question is can those two files from a Windows box simply be dropped into the directories on the Linux box without issues?

Why the stats one?

I can try to just drop it into linux and check it out. It can't do any hard so why not. :)

I move the stats so that I can keep that stats on the machine. (How many and such) Not sure what all it does. When MereMortal posted how to do it, he listed it too...

I am having a terrible time getting d2ol working in slackware 8.1

I updated the libgcc to 3, which I've found as a fix on other forums, but it hasn't helped any :(
The gui client just cycles through candidates without doing any processing, and the cli client just exits with java and X errors (when I do D2OL controller:cli at the console)

I really dont want to change my distro as this one is good and stable (it's the machine irc.deception.net is on)

if anyone has any suggestions they'd be greatly appreciated...

Also has anyone set it up on solaris? because I am thinking of installing solaris on my pIII 800, but if it's a PITA to get it working there, I may not...

Well I need to take back what I said. Looks like things have changed. After letting it run for all day it seems to have messed up a bit. It is not processing some things and is acting very strange in general. So I decided I would reinstall it.......well that was the wrong idea. Now I cannot get it to inittialize at all! Well I guess its time to try the lib files. They really need to do some work on this new client. Every single OS has a problem!

I just completed putting together one of my Tualatin Celeron machines with Mandrake 8.1 and the latest download of DDOL... so far so good.
Ill know more by morning. I just need to figure out how to disable all power management stuffs so I can rest assured it will crunch day and night unattended.
