D2OL POLL - How far apart should the MMs be?

Seems to me that a P3-700 will hit 100 candidates every 2nd day or so. Would it make the MMs more meaningful if they were set at something other than 100? LMK!

I like 500 to 1000, but not everyone is fortunate enough to have a farm or even more than one node, so I believe 250 it about right... so we dont leave out our friends less fortunate.. We do appreciate even a few cands a day..

I voted for a thousand. The MM's have more significant if they are more difficult IMHO.

Perhaps they could be given more often prior to reaching the first 1000 though to encourage newcomers and those with less powerfull (but welcomed) machines.

Most people like me only have one Node at the present time May have access to another puter depends on if or when they reduce the load of the program.

Besides that I like to see my name is lights!

I put out anywhere from Zilch to 80 units a given day

I say 500 is good. Maybe 1000 but I reasoned myself to go with 500 and I am so tired right now I have forgotten my reasoning.:frown:

I think it should change as one moves up the ranks as does SETI. For example they have certificates at 100, 250, 500, 1k, 2.5k, 5k, 10k, 25k, 50k and 100k. It could go higher, but you get the idea. Those are not the ideal milestones for D2OL, but we should be able to come up with something that is better for us.

This seems a good way of mentioning D2OL MM's.

I voted for 500, but I can see the points about those with only one or a couple machines; I think 100 is just too little, so 250 would be a good starting point, then 500, 750, 1000, and every 1000 afterward.

I voted for 1000 because if you only have one 1800+ you're hitting that goal about every 10 days.
