D1626HT Trinitron "failure mode" - Any insight? Worth repairing?

My screen just turned white last night and now the power light just flashes orange even when the computer is off. I looked this up in the manual and it just says this means "failure mode." Obviously, this isn't good. Unfortunately, the manual doesn't provide any more insight into the problem. The monitor neither will display the color bars nor will it display "no input signal." It just starts and then goes directly to this flashing power indicator.

I'm wondering if this is worth getting repaired, or should I just invest in a new monitor? I'd hate to give up my 21' display (only 6 years old), but it appears that might be what is going happen.

I figure I'll need to start looking for a good 19' or 21' to replace this bad boy. 🙁
