I've replaced today my P4 2.8E D1 stepping for a P4 2.8E M0 stepping (for additional 20$), now, when i set it all up, i just can't go over FSB 240 1:1 ratio.. i could do 247 FSB with my prev D1 cpu..
the system boots up to windows when i set 250, but it wont hold any benchmark.. haven't even tried prime95 yet.
I've tried all the vcores my bios gives, and nothing.. maximum i can get is FSB 240 stable on 1.64, 31C.
heat is not the problem.. the cpu is always 31-35C idle even when on 250 fsb.
i've also notices that the voltages on this board (p4c800 deluxe) are not as shown in bios! when i set 1.585, the real vcore is 1.65..and so for all the other vcores.
my system is:
2.8E M0 cooled with zalman cnps7000almcu
P4C800-Deluxe
4x256 OCZ 4000 performance dual ch's
Sapphire R9800P 128 256bit

bios: (latest version 1016)
spread spectrum is disabled.
mem timings are set by SPD
MPS v 1.4
turbo and PAT on auto.

this is not the mem which causes the problem..it has to be the cpu, though the guy said he ran it on 265FSB with no probs..

thanks!

if you set mem ratio to 3:4 can you run your fsb higher then? If so yes your mem is the culprit and you will need to raise VDIMM
