This was on their network status page...

<< Thu 3/21 - A customer on our network was the victim of a denial of service (DOS) attach from 12:00pm to 1:00pm. This attack resulted in slower connectivity for all customers. The problem was identified and corrective action was taken. Internet connectivity has been restored. >>

Musta been a pretty damn heafty DOS attack to slow it down for everybody... Or is that normal??

The glory of DDoS's...yup, could do it EASILY...remember one of them took down yahoo, ebay, and other major sites.

I have personaly seen huge savient farms with 200+ users. Right before I "updated" their code with a suicide line :) No more viruses, their computers good a new.

Unless they also have companies on their network I have a hard time believing a big enough DOS attack would be launched against someone. Why would anyone bother to use several machines around the world to attack a single user? Even if that user is trying to hack you there are far more efficient ways than a DOS attack. Calling the ISP for example.

Only reason I can think of really is that either someone pissed off several scriptkiddies on a bloody fast network, or that someone was targetting a company, or that they were talking BS and that their network was simply messed up.

If they're anything like my ISP, by corrective action they mean standing around looking at the flashing lights on the switch, wondering what the hell to do.
