d.net personal proxy

I'm running the personal proxy with the free version of ZoneAlarm on Win 2000 Pro and everything works fine when I run the proxy as a normal application, but when it's run as a service ZoneAlarm blocks access to the proxy port. The proxy isn't in ZA's list of applications running, so I guess it doesn't know its on. How can i fix this?

When a connection is attempted, the dialogue box should pop up from Zone Alarm asking if you want to allow it. Is that not happening?

Also, is this just your local subnet? If so, have you enabled access in Security / Advanced?

I already set it to allow it the first time it popped up. This is for the whole net, not just my subnet.

When it popped up, did you remember to check the box that says "remember this answer"?

Yes. Everything works great when it's run as a normal application. It's just when I run it as a service then ZA doesn't appear to know it's running and blocks 2064.
