I recently purchased a D-Link DI-524 wireless router from Newegg to replace my current Netgear router. I hooked it up, ran through the install wizard, and nada. The indicator lights on the router say it's working fine and it seems like some packets are being sent, but websites (or other net access) doesn't happen.
I called up the cable company and they said 1) they can't troubleshoot a router and 2) it looks like it's fetching an IP address, meaning it's working?
I also hooked it up BEHIND my netgear router (so I can still get on the net with my main computer). Then I tried to connect to it wirelessly from my laptop, and I was able to connect to the router, but I STILL can't get on the internet from my laptop. Am I doing something wrong? I ran through the setup wizard and left all the values at default (dynamic IP address, using the mac address of the router - even though zoomtown doesn't use the mac address for anything). I also reset the cable modem. No go. Ideas?
