D-Link router keeps failing

Not sure if thats the right word to use....

I recently upgraded the firmware (2.50 to 2.70 D-Link DI-624) and ever since then, it keeps disconnecting me from the internet. If i use the reset button on the back, after it reconnects it lets me back on.

I just re-installed the old firmware and hope it stops.
Any ideas for if it doesnt?

Which modem you have from them? Speedstream 5100b/5100a/5360/2wire? I doubt it's the service but the confliction of PPPoE authentication/handling.

Edit: now that I thought about it. You have a modem with a PPPoE client built in. When you reset your router it should goto "obtain automatically" on the WAN. I'd advise you to bridge your modem and configure PPPoE on the router. Refrain from using the "reset" button on the router, instead unplug the power to reboot it.
