Hi people,
I need some help to setup my D-Link DI-604 Router so any help would be appreciated. I have a cable modem and at the moment, the cable modem goes directly into one of the LAN ports in my PC. The second LAN port feeds the HUB onto which the other PC and Xbox connect to. It is connected on a network setup via windows network wizard.
I have tried to get the router to work but have had no joy. To begin with, I set it up as the manual stated: cable modem to router then router to PC. After starting the PC up, I couldnt log into the router using the ip address in the manual: 192.168.0.1. I eventually worked out that I had to disable the network bridge as this occupied the required ip address.
This then let me log on to the router but I cant get past the login screen. The manual states: "use "admin" as the login and leave password field blank and hit OK". I have tried this but it wont let me progress and keeps bringing me back to the username/pass bit. I have reset the modem to factory default via the hidden switch but the same problem happens where I cant get on to the diagnostics.
I have triple checked all the cables, switched of all the devices inc the pc and cable modem but no luck.
I have an Asus A7N8X motherboard with 2 LAN connectors, Radeon 9700PRO GPU, 1 gig DDR 400 and 1x IDE 60 gig and 2x 200 gig SATA drives plus win XP.
Any help would be highly appreciated
Thanks
Zaf
