This is an oldie, but goody. If you have a networked PC that you can use to stream media or one of the numerous UPnP-streaming devices (like NAS enclosures, WHS, etc.), you may find this device useful.
D-Link MediaLounge DSM-520 Wireless HD Media Player $100 AR
This is one in a series of UPnP players from D-Link. I would rate this player below the more recent DSM-510 but above the older DSM-320. DSM-510's may be hard to come by now and are generally more expensive.
D-Link offers a more recent DSM-750 player which works with Vista Media Center as an extender. However, it is more expensive and its UPnP capability is not as good as the DSM-520's. There is also HP x280n which also integrates the UPnP and Media Center Extender capability, but it requires an HDTV.
If you need a Media Center Extender and don't need a UPnP-capable player, then a Linksys DMA2200 is for you.
Please remember that all of these products are early-adapter devices. They have their own quirks, may not be compatible with all of your media and should be considered betas. If you have no time or patience for this kind of item, you will be severely disappointed.
