• Be sure to save all of your configuration settings before you perform the update.
  
  You may do so by going in to the tools menu > system > "Save Settings To Local Hard Drive: Save Configuration" > Give the configuration a name.gws

Nice. Thanks for the info! These are damn great routers. The 4300 is best router I've ever owned and worth every penny.

This version also fixed the bug with jumbo frame enabled clients not being able to access the web configuration unless jumbo frames were disabled. Jumbo frames are still not supported in the switch as, AFAIK, this is a limitation that would require a HW-level change.

It's good to see that D-Link is paying more attention to jumbo frames.

Correct me if I am wrong, but jumbo frames are useless unless your ISP will support them. You will be able to transfer files but not surf the web.

There is no support for it in the WAN side, as there is no support for it in the switch incorporated. What's fixed is the bug whereby if the client NIC had jumbo framed enabled, then you couldn't even access the router's web config to check the status, etc. (Although you could access web pages through the router.) This is a simple bug fix. Not a real functionality change, but the removal of an irritant.

The switch hardware In the router support jumbo frames, but Dlink disabled it in the firmware due to support issues and its never had the ability to be enabled despite hardware support.
