D-Link DWL-G730AP Pocket Wireless Router $30 AR at Best Buy

Price is $79.99 with a $50 MIR. I was so impressed by this thing I wrote a review on Cnet for it, listed below:

"I had learned about this device a few months ago and thought it was a great idea, but doubted it's ability to be effective beyond 30 feet or so - basic hotel room range. I just picked one up to create a wireless bridge to connect a Slingshot box to our home wireless network. It is only the first day but so far it's done the job perfectly. Out of curiosity, I switched it into router mode via the switch on the bottom and connnected it to our cable modem to test it out as a wireless router and, surprisingly, I'm two floors up and getting an excellent signal - between 70 and 80 percent, which is the same if not even a bit better than our regular household router. I was expecting to maybe get 30-40 percent. Quite astonishing considering the box itself is smaller than a deck of cards. This is a perfect portable solution to creating wireless internet. Just keep in mind it doesn't have an ethernet port so it's a solution for wireless users only. Oh, and the power adapter accepts 100-240V input, so you can plug it in anywhere in the world without blowing it up."

I can't find it on Best Buy's website so YMMV. Here's it is on the D-Link website:

Oh, and the Slingshot box is very cool, too. This may be the device that forces broadband providers to start increasing their upload speeds. We're dropping our cable broadband and going to DSL just to get up to 384Kbps.

pretty good deal. it seems like kind of extravagant to use in a hotel room, but not being tethered to the desk is pretty nice.
