With Linux, this card is a crap shoot
HW revisions A1,A2,B1,B2 are Prism
HW Version C1 is based on ADM8211, and is reported to have bad sensitivity, also binary only drivers
Rev D used a Realtek chip
Version E is a prism3

I got in on the BB deal last month but had to return the adapter due to awful performance. The DWL-520E I had would connect at full speed and then throttle down to its slowest speed when in use. Frustrating problem as the signal strength and quality were both in the 95% range. D-Link tech support blamed it on my router, a Netgear MR814v2, which works great with wireless USB adapters from Netgear and SMC, an IBM Centrino laptop and a D-Link 802.11g PCI card. At the price, I really wanted to make this 'b' card work.
