D-Link dsl router with 4 port switch for 96.95 (NO REBATES) + shipping at buy.com.!!!!!

Anyone know how this compares to the linksys? Especially in terms of port forwarding incoming requests to a box (or boxes) on the inside?

drof, the SMC7004BR is the SMC Barricade router... it's a good deal in it's own right... it's got more features and better specs than the Linksys (in about the same price range... use buy.com and coupons, etc...) plus a $20 rebate (good until the end of october).

The question is about the D-Link di-704 though... this router will be quite a bit cheaper, but AFAIK no one has reviewed it yet.

Another hot deal is the Addtron adr-e200p, with similar features and sells for less than $80!!! (but again, no reviews yet)

The Linksys is a piece of crap. Could not hold a connection, and could not even play a game without dropping the connection. I am now on a Netgear RT314 running the Zyxel 314 firmware, running great.

my linksys has been absolutely flawless, for gaming, and all your other usual 'home' uses (ftp, icq, mirc, blah blah)...OT, but in responce to the linksys is a p.o.s tid bit in this thread 🙂

i hear that all three (linksys, d-link, netgear) are comparable, just get the one that's cheapest and set it up proper and you should be peachy

I think routers need to be researched before buying. There are problems with some of them. For example the D-Link 7101 has a security hole and many people report data corruption problems with the Linksys BEFSR41. Anyone know if D-Link fixed the security hole in this new model?
