Does your DSL provider allow for 2 IP's? If not, you will not be able to have both computers playing together on the internet.

I am on cable!

here is the product description.

"The D-Link DI-701 Residential Gateway protects your computers from hackers or unwanted users. It is the easiest and safest way to share your high-speed Internet connection with a DSL Modem or Cable Modem. The DI-701 will act as a firewall for your PC to protect your computer from unwanted intruders. If someone tries to access your PC without your knowledge the DI-701 will stop them in their tracks. It allows up to 32 simultaneous computers to connect to the Internet through the same ISP account. It also employs a Dynamic Host Configuration protocol (DHCP) that provides dynamic allocation of IP addresses for up to 128 clients on your network. Being very flexible, the DI-701 will connect to any Ethernet devices and multiple types of machines and operating systems. "

Yep, that'll let you play games on the internet. If you want to host a game, that's a different story. You'd have to be able to open certain ports and map them to whatever machine you want to serve on.
