D-Link Dl-704 problems with RoadRunner

So I went out and bought a Dl-704 today, and I can't seem to get it to work. When I first hooked it up, before I tinkered with the settings, it worked for webpages but wouldn't connect to ICQ or IM. So, I tried setting the port that both use in the Special Apps section. After doing that, ICQ still wouldn't work, and neither would any websites.
After messing around with the settings for a few hours, I think I put in all the settings that are supposed to be set, but it STILL didn't work. I tried steeing the router to a static and dynamic ip on the WAN, and tried setting my computer's IP on the network as well as having the router use DHCP.
Can anyone who has done this before tell me exactly how everything is supposed to be set? I'm about to tear my hair out, and it's only worse because I've seen that this router is supposed to work like a charm.

One thing that is strange is that when I set the WAN to DHCP, it never finds the IP address, though my computer has no problem when I hook it straight to the cable modem.
