D-link DIR-820L, 850L

Both of these are listed as 1200Mbps total transfer rate on D-links website, I'm curious if this is a mistake as the 820 is cheaper and listed as 1000 elsewhere.

Apart from that I can't find much difference between them. Is the 820L any different in CPU, RAM, heat sinks, anything? Anyone have experience with either one of these? It's hard to find the specs for the 820, not sure if it's the same dual core as the 850.

My last two D-link routers started getting flaky a few years in (dir-615, previous one I think was a DI-524 or something), so I'm not really sure why I'm going with D-link again, but the 820L in particular looked like a good entry point to AC without as much compromise as similar cheap products.

I agree with sdifox. There's no better "AC entry point" than an Archer C7
