How well does this work with the Macbook and Apple wireless adapters in general? I'm trying to upgrade to N for my macbook, but i dont want to pay Apple prices for a router.

I don't either, but after having gone through a large number of routers and switches "on the cheap" I'm considering paying (as little) more (as possible) for reasonable quality equipment that won't persistently overheat after the first month or three or outright fail. Several friends purchased the Apple base station and none have ever complained about it going down or becoming unresponsive on anything approaching an even remotely regular basis. I just bought an 8 port Netgear ProSafe Gb switch for about $30 AR that has been up and running wonderfully at full speeds. (It was a great deal, sometimes you get lucky🙂

I have considered looking for a wireless router, but the one supplied by my ISP seems to be fine for what I use it for. I'd do a wired connection for any large file transfers anyways.
