D-link Specs Link
The adapter we used (it's not d-link and yeah that sucks even more but).
Wireless adapter
Ok, I will explain my 11 hours of hell in a few lines...
I went to install a wireless network for a small insurance company. The guy that worked for them stopped going and basically I landed the job soon after. He had a wired network installed with a lot of lines that connected between them, furthermore the security on each of the computers was almost independent and pretty damn tight. I tried to go around the securities to no avail and ended up backing up critical information and programs needed and reinstalled windows in each of the computers except one.
After windows installed the first thing I did was install service pack 2 and then in line the mobo drives and other peripherals. Then the real "work" began, installing the printers, after a few setbacks, we got them up and running in both the computers (which btw didn't see each other). Now there's the problem, the next thing was making both computers "see" each other on the network. After god knows how many tries, my best friend who also works in computers altered some settings and got both computers to see.
But even though we had those 2 comps, we still had a third one...
at 10pm tonight we called it quits till tomorrow, because the third one (the one we didn't format) couldn't connect to the wireless network... the strange thing is that it recognized both printers in the network and could send queries to both to print pages, but we couldnt get that comp to comunicate with the other 2 comps.
Anyone here has any suggestions.
I sure would appreciate any help on this matter.
Here's a pic of what we had on (this is on my comp).
HELP ME 1
HELP ME 2
I'm honestly far from being an expert in wireless setups... and at security for that matter, but I do know a bit, and you can hit me with almost anything and I will most likely know a bit about it
... So really really really any suggestions are welcome
.
If you need for info ask for it and i'll try to help
At least now we know that we will buy the wireless adapter and router from the same company from now on :/
