D-Link DI-624 router w/ 2100AP.. bandwidth limiting

I have a D-Link router (DI-624) it is connected to 3 d-link 2100AP access points.. I want to limit the bandwidth of 1 or all of the access points. When one user is logged in and downloading it hogs all the bandwidth and even browsing is slow.. we have a 10mbit connection to the internet.. so this one user can download at like 900 kb/s and it slows the crap out of every other machine.. especially when they are using a download manager type program where you set the bandwidth meter to unlimited. I would like to limit the upload and download speed seperately from the server end rather than a program on the client end since I can't install software on everyones machine. Wondering if anyone knows a way to do this, thanks.

I can't think of any very convenient methords to limit bandwidth for a particular user on some soho router...but there are a few ideas.

Is the bandwidth hogging user connected over wireless? If so, then you can reduce the max bandwidth of your wireless connections. This will unfortunately limit the max speed of all wireless users, but should be more 'fair' to all users.

If the high bandwidth usage is the result of P2P type connections, then there are a couple of possibilities. Your router might have the ability to block specific P2P applications, preventing the bandwidth heavy usage by all users. I'm somewhat doubtful that your router supports this, but another option is to put a limit on the maximum connections per user. P2P apps often need hundreds of simultaneous connections to get high speeds.
