The main thing I see different is that the DI-524's data rate is up to 54mbps while the DI-624's data rate is up to 108mbps

D-Link hardware and other hardware that uses the same chipsets. I believe Netgear's 108mbps stuff will work with D-Link's 108mbps stuff...
