Awesome router. I use it at home wired to my desktop, and wirelessly for the PS2 and my laptop.

Excellent router....very configurable.

#1 in many reviews....the netgear WGT11 (or something like that) is a tad faster when devices are next to each other.....but otherwise the DI-624 kicks A.

BTW, the 108mb Turbo mode only works using CHANNEL 6....... PERIOD. And you must use ONLY Super-G Turbo products for it to work. Kidna bummer, but it's really not important....

So for me, I don't use it.

MaxDSP: Thanks for the link to the chart. It sure clarifies the superiority of the Atheros Super-G chip set, at least in the context of the one particular test.

I just bought the DI-624 this weekend at Fry's for $39.98. It seems to work as advertised, although I haven't really checked it out yet.

Finally, a thought: If you set the router and the PC Card receiver to "Super-G only" mode, have you added a pretty damn good layer of security on top of everything else? Sure seems like it to me. Now the hackers have to be running an Atheros Super-G device to even get started.

I really don't know much about wireless stuff, but a fellow AT'er (JackMDS)has a website setup for all of your networking needs. Go to http://www.ezlan.net and take it from there

Thats a very good point. I wonder if they could even see the access point. The signal is spread across twice as many channels. The downside to that is that if your neighbors are running any networks on the 2.4ghz band they will hate you.

damn right. That 108MBps SuperG and XtremeG crap is a travesty. Damn things should be banned by the FCC because they interfere with other devices so blatently...phones etc.

Did the IEEE approve that crap?!

HELL NO!
