quick ?'s for the gurus out there:
i have a d-link 614+ with the latest firmware (2.18). about 6 days ago (approximately) my download throughput kind of went into the crapper.
before this problem, my downloads as measured through dsl reports were about 2500kps to 4100kps. my uploads were about 800kps to 1000kps.
here are my informal test results now using dsl reports:
(all numbers are in DL/UL)
no router:
test #1 3199kps/757kps
test #2 2995kps/905kps
d-link 614+
test #1 97kps/904kps
test #2 27kps/ 895kps
linksys BEFRS41 with latest f/w (1.44.2z)
test #1 3699kps/895kps
test #2 1740kps/912kps
i have tested with 2 different d-link routers (same model) and the results are the same. this leads me to believe that there is a problem either with the configuration of the router, the router itself (highly unlikely as i have tested with a brand new router) or my isp itself as i haven't changed anything on my end.
the tech at optimum online told me to change my "broad rate" (no clue what he was talking about until he explained a little further) which is correctly set to dhcp (as opposed to PPPoE, static or PPTP).
any help?
