Last Saturday my old 802.11 b D-LInk router died- Confirmed by CoxCable- Signal to cable modem but router gone-only had it 18 months.
Had the D-Link 802.11g router on hand, so after a couple of tries I got it online. Desktops run fine and Toshiba laptop can pick up the 54MBps signal but it is unsecure.
When I try to go through the router's wizard (http://192.168.0.1), I can enter an SSIDwith n o problems but whenever I try to encrypt at either 64 or 128 bit, no luck. Set up won't take either 64 or 128 entries in HEx (no Ascii like on the old 802.11b).
Calls to D-link not productive as you go on hold forever.
Any ideas on how to do this?
Thanks,
Ed
