Yes it will. But you can only get 11mbps and 128-bit encryption outta this card. If you want to take *full* advantage of your DI-614+, buy the DWL-650+ card (costs considerably more tho) which will get you 22mbps and 256-bit encryption.

Somewhat qualifies as a repost of here. As it turns out, the same mail in rebate applies for Computers4Sure.com, Solutions4Sure.com, TechDepot.com, and OfficeTechCenter.com.

Still an excellent deal, however.

Does anyone here know if this uses 16 bit PCMCIA vs. 32 bit (Cardbus)? My ancient NEC Versa 4000C only handles the former, so my DLink DWL-650+ (Cardbus) doesn't work. If this (non-Plus version) does, I can use the old laptop as a wireless Web browser...

Thanks!

From the D-Link product page :

"D-Link, the industry leader in wireless networking, introduces the new and improved DWL-650, part of the D-LinkAirTM family of award winning wireless products. The DWL-650 is a 32-bit Wireless Cardbus Adapter capable of transfer rates of up to 11Mbps, giving you the ability to connect to a wireless network at home, at the office or at wireless hotspots. Now, with the DWL-650 in your notebook PC, you can stay connected wherever you are and wherever you go."

Cardbus. Unfortunate news for you I am afraid.

Thanks, but from reading notes on third party drivers elsewhere there appear to have been *two* versions of the DWL-650: one 16 bit and one 32. I may be mistaken, but if that's the case these may be useable after all. For $30 I have little to lose - but then again I don't need *two* cards that don't plug in.

As far as I can tell, TechDepot/Computers4Sure/Etc are all one and the same. Maybe they figure that 4x the businesses means 4x the customers.. bizarre, but hey, more power to them. hehe

There have been 3 versions at least. Only the oldest version is 16-bit PCMCIA (with the black, sawblade-shaped antenna). The chances of getting that is pretty slim, unless a place happens to have very old stock. Most people ordering in the past few months have been getting the A1/L1 revision, which is 32-bit CardBus based on the ADMTek ADM8211 chipset.
