I get ya, i'm like that with WA

My folks live over East (NSW), and while i love visting them, coming back to Perth is like going on holiday, when in fact the reverse is true :D

I've got job offers all over the continent, and i've had no hesitation making my mind up to stay living in Perth, but then we've hardly got the rent/house price issues you have...

I don't have any rent/housing issues. We bought our house in San Diego before prices went nuts so we pay less on our mortgage than most people do for rent. I'm in north county San Diego right near the coast. I'm about 7 miles from the Pacific Ocean.

You lucky buggers ;)

We're probably ~5mins drive from the bach, but that's because we wanted a place close to uni (15mins walk to law school for me, ~10mins to the eng buildings for my gf), but we pay $220 AUD a fortnight each for a duplex (2 bedrooms, master ensuite, 2nd dunny, laundry, kitchen, study, living room, kitchen/2nd living room, big ass enclosed verandah then a decent yard), great money for what our place is regardless of area...

House prices are getting a bit nasty tho, pity since we're looking to buy next year, prolly have to drop at least ~400-500k AUD to get a little place we like in this area :( Lucky we're both out on good jobs i guess.

We own a 4 bed, 3 bath house that's 2200 sq. ft. with a 2 car garage. The house has central airconditioning and we can be at the beach in 15 minutes easily. Hell, I can ride my bike down there in about 30 minutes. The house is in a nice area on a quiet cul de sac street. We love it. I'm catching the reflection of the palm trees in my back yard in my laptop screen as I type this. :D;)
