Today is the 61st anniversary of the D-Day invasion during WWII. I'm grateful for all those, including my grandfather, who fought for our freedom with such bravery and selflessness.

good call. i'm thankful to all vets as well, including my grandfather who landed at Omaha, was wounded behind enemy lines while spotting artillery, and helped hold Bastogne when it was surrounded. god rest his soul.

It is a sad thing that most of the peeps on this BBS don't give a shat about Patriotism or loyalty to their country. Numerous times I have brought up threads about being thankful for vets and P.O.W.S only to get shot down by a take it for granted American wannabe...

my  goes out to all those vets.

forgot today was june 6 before this post though. that would explain why it's WWII D-Day stuff on the history channel all day though.

Upon the time of my arrival back at my home after my departure from work, I shall celebrate my freedom through consumption of ice cold American beer. During that time, I will of course be watching an episode of Band of Brothers for the n-th time episodes in honor of The Greatest Generation.

To every man who took part in the D-day operations, I thank you from the deepest chambers of my heart, this one's for you!
