Thanks for the stats Geoff.
Have you seen this post on the D²OL forum ?

Dear Community Members.

We have the SARS Target ready and will deploy it as soon as we have made some hardware changes to improve the performance of the servers.

The first SARS target is commonly targeted in viruses and we anticipate high structural homology of similar targets between viruses of the same family. This provided us with tangible targets for the virus that causes SARS.

If you have any further questions please e-mail myself or Ken Weilbacher (whinz@childhooddiseases.org or kweilbacher@childhooddiseases.org).

Best regards
Wolfgang Hinz

Maybe things have been running so well lately because he took over D2OL as well?

I don't think we would be quite that lucky, but it will be interesting to see if anything comes of this.

It may not be that far fetched. Ken has been replying with support, not just hints of "Ill see what I can do"

It would be nice if they did go into a joint project. Maybe we will see some new all medical projects coming up.

I agree, but the technical problems this project seems to be plagued with (pun intended :D) should be fixed first to get the users back.

Has rick (rstarr) finally given up ??
Posted April 14th, 2003 01:37 AM
"Well, after 1 plus years of problems after problems, I've given up on D2OL. I thought I'd never heard myself say "I give up". But a fella has to do what a fella has to do.
I ask all HCW D2OL members to uninstall that program and go with the DF project we have started Here.
I want to thank everyone that helped on the D2OL project. We really pulled together as a team and showed the world what HCW was made off. HARDCORE members! "

It's not going to be long before we're the only ones left :(
Not much of a challenge in that.

Yep... he's packed it in. Many of HCW moved to DF during the last outage.

Our closest competitor is the DPC and they are doing about 1/4 our production daily :(

Well then my friends, then we are definately in it for the cause, not the stats. Even though making other teams ill at our awesome stats was kindof nice ;) Id like there to be more competition in it. I was thinking about changing 2 of my 4 currently running nodes to TSC and keep the other 2 on D²OL. Not sure yet, all i know either way is that i'm not going to stop D²OL. Just if i want to try my hand at doing 2 projects instead of one. *soul searching in progress* Damn. forgot. I gave the devil a lease, with an option to buy in return for my woman's hand in merrage.. DOH :p

Yes guys and gals, most of TEAM HCW has moved on to another project called DF. Oops, sorry about that. I don't have nearly as many machines on the other project as I did with D2OL.

I can say, overall it was fun tipping cows and messing with some of you on a daily basis. I'm glad to see that your team is staying together and driving on with a project.

Maybe, and that's a big maybe, someday 6 months down the road, if D2OL is looking good, I'll be back.

Good luck and did you guys hit 1 mill yet? I think so! :):)
