D²OL: New client available 1.1.4 **GREAT NEWS**

Hot on the heels of a flawless weekend, Sengent has released an update to the client, v01.01.04. This is supposed to take care of all the issues surrounding hung candidates (yeah, I know... heard it all before). So far, so good.

However, the best news seems to be the memory footprint. On my XP Home box, dockwin.exe is only taking 10Mb... I believe that is 10-20% of what it used to require!

The link to the download is here. I'd love to see some of those old familiar faces on the Daily Stats again! 🙂

OBSERVATION: On my P4/XP Home/512Mb machine at work, dockwin was only taking 10Mb while crunching. On my XP1900/Win2K Pro/512Mb machine at home, dockwin is using 50k. While not as great a reduction as hoped, this is still somewhat less than what it was using before 🙂

that is very interesting.
thanks for the info.
the memory footprint being significantly reduced is very welcome news.
even more so is a reduction in hung nodes. the one thing i hated the most was coming home to find my axp hadnt been doing anything for 9 hours or something.
the worst was like 160 hrs when i was out of town for a while.
man that ticked me off!

Interesting the download link is only for 1.1.3....and only one of my nodes updates automatically....the other two havent even asked me and all three are configured the same. hmmm...good job sengent

inverseofneo- I shut my engines down and restarted them. This forced an update. I have to imagine that their servers are getting hammered when they release an update, so the client may check, and if there are too many downloads happening at that time, continue without upgrading. At least that's what I'd like to think!

JJWalker- hardCOREWare typically dump a couple of times during the day. I believe that our team, for the most part, do not dump, but instead produce regularly throughout the day. We'll pass them before the day is out 🙂 I expect that HardCOREWare will be in 3rd sometime early March and will start their run at the DPC. They have been outproducing them every day this week. Since they only updated the client this afternoon, it may be a couple of days before the download link is fixed. AFAIK the client that gets downloaded may be 1.1.4, and just the label is wrong... dunno! 🙂

Rank Name Cands Confs
1 hardCOREware 2,246 44,920
2 Team AnandTech 2,166 43,320
3 Dutch Power Cows 1,751 35,020

Thanks for the tip. I checked the memory usage of the node that did auto update and it was still up around 55MB or so...but I think that was down from 80-100, dont remember that well but I will certainly take note of the ones im force updating. Update in a short while.

Edit: my other two nodes updated and use about 50% of the memory than they previously used. 50MB as opposed to 100.

Did you say a flawless weekend? For D2OL? Whats that?😛

This is awesome news! Makes me want to fire up a rig or two again. Ummm...maybe I had better wait a little longer to make sure, they have a long horrible track record to make up for.

Im with baldy. Lets see how this plays out. Maby some of my machines will be shifted back over to D2OL who knows. 🙂

Damn, and I just sold off most of my fleet.... well maybe in the spring Ill cook up another batch. 🙂

Sengent.. history of problems? No.. say it isn't so..

For my part, I'm currently in a SETI race with Swanny but once that's finished up(probably 14 or so days) and IF there haven't been any problems with D2OL, then I'll switch some of the fleet back. 🙂

Glad to know I'm keeping you on your toes🙂

My only rig running D2OL is where I can only get at it about once a week, so a non hanging client would be great!!
