Cyst on ass crack, go to Dermatologist or Proctologist?

Interesting dilemma, huh?

Anyway, I have had a cyst at the top of my ass crack for over 2 months now, hoping that it would go away. Well, after this long time it not only has not gone away, it's gotten worse. I have had 2 separate cysts removed from my back over the years, so I know it's a cyst.

Here's the thing, it's obviously in an embarrassing location. It's at the top of the crack, but still between the cheeks, perhaps an inch down from the very top fold. I would think this would be the job for a dermatologist, since I believe a proctologist would specialize in problems of the anus and inner rectum (rectum? it nearly killed 'em). But I'm not looking forward to having a doctor who is not used to this area have to work around there. I also feel bad making some chump remove a cyst from there, even though my ass is pretty nice if I say so myself.

What do I do, besides continue to live with the annoying and often painful, sometime bleeding / pussing sore?

i have the same thing actually, your doctor will tell you to go to a surgeon and tell you to soak it 4-5 times a day, if it keeps coming back after it pops/drains they'll do surgery to remove it, you'll be laid up for 1-2 weeks and you cant really move to much, i'll find out tomorrow if i have to have surgery or not, it went away for 2 months and now it came back, see your doc quickly so he can refer you.

Why jump ahead? just go to your normal family doctor first... then he will give you a referral elsewhere to the appropriate place.

Definitely derm....maybe make it clear to them you feel its an emergency...new derm patients take FOREVER to get seen.

Freak problem? Cysts are fairly common, and I guess it's just a matter of luck on where they form. I doubt age has much to do with it, but I am 32 years old. I did ask my doctor after the last one was removed if there is anything that can be done to prevent these things, and he said there wasn't.

WEll you go the assman when there is a problem with your hole. He'll fix your hole or just make you a new one.

It seems like there isn't a problem with your hole; just the surrounding area. Don't bother the hole doctor and just go to the body suit doctor. No sense is making an ass of yourself in front of the assman...he has a lot of HITB to do.

Are you serious? Same location? Perhaps we are long lost, separated twins. When you look out your window at night at the stars, do you ever think of me? :)

Laid up for 1-2 weeks, all for an ass sore? When I had my other cysts removed (upper back), I had a couple of stitches and they told me not to lift any weights for the next 10 days. I hope he doesn't expect me to hold it in for the next 10 days...

yes i am serious, acutally mine as moved, it was in my ass crack, now it's lower, the reason it's longer is because when you walk, it will burst, split or cause it to heal slower, that's what my sergeon told me either, and i hope were not long lost ass twins eheh, and im actually 23 and from what the surgeon said it's fairly common in men, especially with lots of hair from what he told me.

Derm.

Or just soak in the tub for a few hours to soften it up, then squeeze it like a zit!

Dermatologist for sure! If you visit the Proctologist, you're likely to get the two finger, rubber glove, lube job treatmeant. I think they get off on that or something. Why else would anyone in their right mind want to be a Proctologist? It's kind of like being a Priest. And you wonder why there are sexual deviates that sign up for that gig. I mean, they can't marry or have sexual relations with woman. They are thinking.. That's ok.. I like small boys anyway.

Booooy... I'm getting way off on a tangent here.

Bottom line is that I would go to the dermatologist.

This is why I don't want to be a doctor.
I don't want to have to deal with weird bump on a stranger's ass.

Well, I'd like to think that after the job is done we won't be strangers anymore...

It's called a Pilodinal (or was that Pilonidal?) Cyst, and is more common than you'd probably think. It was the reason that one of those sensationalist conservative radio talk show peoples (maybe Rush Limbaugh?) was allowed to skip out on vietnam.

Surgery will remove it, but there's no guarantee that it won't reform. Doctors don't really know why certain people get them and others don't; probably just genetic pre-disposition. The only real ways to help prevent them are, if you're a little hairy down there, to keep things trim (as ingrown hairs are usually the main culprit). Also, as noted above, keep the area clean, and avoid irritating that spot (by sitting on it, etc.). I forget exactly why the base of the tail bone is a fairly popular spot for cysts, but it is.
